SeaTrees and Crew at Ohana Fest! 🏄🏽‍♀️

Last week, Dana Point's historic coast played host to the Ohana Festival—an epic 3-day fusion of music, beachside bites, and the power of storytelling. Derived from the Hawaiian word for 'family,' Ohana Fest united leading conservationists, environmentalists, researchers, and surfers in a celebration to gather and share their passion for the planet.

But it didn't stop there; Ohana Fest also dedicated a portion of its proceeds to support the San Onofre Parks Foundation and the Doheny State Beach Foundation, embodying the spirit of giving back to the community.

We were stoked to be invited to partake in the Storyteller stage, where our Partnerships Director, Haley Jain Haggerstone, and SeaTrees Ambassadors, Pacha Light and Bodhi Patil, brought their passion to these ocean-focused discussions. Haley participated in a panel about Community Activism, rallying the audience around the idea that real change begins at the grassroots level. Pacha dove headfirst into the Life Underwater: Stories From the Sea panel and also graced the Voices of the Ocean: Emerging Leaders conversation alongside Bodhi. These powerful panels were carefully curated to highlight the Ohana Festival's key pillars of oceans, activism, environmental justice, art, community, and the voices of indigenous people.

The Ohana Festival isn't just a music festival—it's a platform for change. Amidst the sounds of music and the waves, it resonates with the power of the ocean. It's a reminder that we're not just attendees; we're guardians of the planet.

And as the sun dipped below the horizon, this event left an indelible mark, because at the end of the day, we are all part of the same 'ohana,' and it's our duty to protect our shared home.
