We’re stoked to announce that we are now the beneficiary of the ingenious 1% for the Planet checking account from Bank of the West.
Want to see where we’ll be focusing those hard-working funds donated by Bank of the West to our SeaTrees program? Then hitch a ride with our pals at Surfline to come check out our kelp forest restoration project in Los Angeles, in partnership with The Bay Foundation.
Why did we switch to Bank of the West? Because we know that where you put your #moneymatters!
A Watershed Moment with Eddy
SeaTrees regularly checks in with our restoration partners, ensuring our projects continue to benefit both people and the planet. Our latest visit was to our HO’OWAIWAI Watershed Project on Maui, Hawaii. Come take a virtual walk with us – as we visit with Eddy Garcia, the founder of Regenerative Education Centers (REC) – as he describes how restoration and regenerative agriculture all work together to form a stronger, more powerful way of healing the land and the ocean. The combination of traditional techniques, ancient wisdom, and hands-on restorative practices is filtering water run-off before it reaches the coral reefs at Lanipoko, one of Maui’s beloved surf sports, while sequestering carbon back into the ground - leaving Hawaii’s coastline healthier than before.
Lost & Found
To finish off the summer, we’ve partnered with Court of the Forest for “The Lost Beings” NFT collection that will support SeaTrees restoration projects.
50% of the proceeds generated from this collection will support our mission. Each piece of the collection features an extinct or endangered animal created by a collection of 30 artists - all aimed toward helping regenerate our oceans through the power of art & web3.
