Partnerships for the Planet

It's week two of Earth Month, and now that we're in the swing of things, it's time to get down to earth and let you know about some exciting news that came out this week.

According to a recent landmark international climate science report, scientists and researchers around the world come together to discuss what we've known all along about solving the climate crisis, which is that simply cutting emissions is not enough.

We need to focus on recapturing and storing carbon that we've already released into the atmosphere and sunk into our oceans. Lucky for all of us, seatrees are by far the most effective tool for quickly sequestering those CO2 emissions. These critical blue-carbon ecosystems made up of kelp, mangroves, coral, seagrass, and coastal watersheds, are nature's solution to storing carbon while also creating countless social, economic, and environmental benefits for local communities worldwide.

By helping us plant our next million seatrees, you can easily take direct and immediate action to reduce your impact and leave behind a positive climate legacy.

This month SeaTrees has partnered with incredible brands to progress our environmental stewardship and help the planet in some fun and exciting ways, fitting into the 2022 Earth Month motto of creating "partnerships for the planet."

We’re excited to announce the launch of our collaboration with Stasher Bags for their new Ocean Forest Collection, designed to eliminate single-use plastic, and ultimately stop it from harming ocean ecosystems. Proceeds from the collection will restore 8,000 square feet of kelp forest in Palos Verdes, California. You can find out more about the collection and the ecosystems that inspired it here.

You might remember from last week’s newsletter that we collaborated with ocean-conscious shoe brand SeaVees for their latest collection that aims to restore blue carbon ecosystems. They have since committed to a 500% increase in their support of SeaTrees by donating $5 from every shoe purchase this month. Find out more about how they’re putting the “sea” in “SeaVees” and our goal to restore 13,500 square feet of kelp forest here

Is there someone in your life who wants to see a better world? Our work happens year-round, not just during  Earth Month. Send a gift card to a loved one and support our work when you donate in their name. Or have them sign up for our newsletter, and we’ll plant their first SeaTree for FREE.
