As temperatures rise in the Pacific ocean there is an urgent need for support. Kelp forests are climate superheroes — protecting coastlines, sheltering marine life, and potentially capturing carbon at scale.

This research investigates kelp’s potential for long-term carbon sequestration. By analyzing how kelp captures and stores carbon in deep-sea environments, this study helps quantify its role in climate mitigation and could result in carbon credits for wild kelp forests.
