This 90 minute webinar will discuss the state of the science behind kelp forests and carbon sequestration and what that means for kelp forest conservation, kelp farming, and finance instruments such as kelp carbon credits or even kelp biodiversity credits.

Kelp forests are are often touted as potential “blue carbon” ecosystems with the potential to mitigate and reduce CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere, potentially also generating carbon credits. Recently, there has been a flurry of claims, products, research, and investment into kelp forests based on this premise.
