We’re excited to announce that Seatrees has received support from 11th Hour Racing’s grant program, joining a community of organizations working to improve ocean health and address some of our planet’s most pressing environmental challenges.
At Seatrees, restoring the ocean isn’t only about the work happening in the water or along our coastlines. It’s also about bringing people into the story — helping communities understand why these ecosystems matter, connecting people with solutions, and inspiring more people to take part in restoring our ocean planet.
Support from 11th Hour Racing is helping Seatrees do exactly that, providing general operating funding that supports two important parts of our work: storytelling and community activation.
Bringing Ocean Restoration Stories to Life
One of the most powerful ways we can connect people to ocean restoration is through storytelling.
With support from 11th Hour Racing, Seatrees is creating short films and educational content that make complex environmental issues more accessible, engaging, and inspiring.
That includes our new watershed video, which explores the connection between our local watersheds and the ocean, showing how what happens upstream ultimately impacts the health of our coast.
Created with support from 11th Hour Racing, the film is part of our broader effort to help people better understand the ecosystems around them and the role we can all play in protecting and restoring them.
Creating a Home for Ocean Community
Support from 11th Hour Racing is also helping us bring people together at The Sea House, Seatrees’ community space in Encinitas, California.
The Sea House is a place where ocean restoration meets culture and community — through films, conversations, workshops, art, science, and events that connect people with the ocean and with one another.
This fall, that includes a series of events and activations at The Sea House as part of San Diego Climate Week. With support from 11th Hour Racing, we’re bringing together scientists, storytellers, conservation leaders, businesses, funders, and community members to share ideas, explore solutions, and build momentum for a healthier ocean and planet.

Building a Healthier Ocean, Together
11th Hour Racing works to mobilize sailing, maritime, and coastal communities to create systemic change for the health of the ocean. Their grant program supports organizations addressing environmental challenges while engaging communities in solutions.
Their support gives Seatrees the flexibility to strengthen the work that surrounds restoration, telling the stories behind it, creating opportunities for people to experience ocean conservation firsthand, and building a larger community around ocean action.
Because restoring the ocean takes more than projects. It takes people who understand what’s at stake, believe recovery is possible, and have opportunities to become part of the solution.
