This International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate the Women of the Watershed, specifically a group of women dear to our hearts, and fundamental to our organization, the “Mujeres de El Dátil” who are helping us regenerate the critical coastal ecosystem in the land of waves and whales South of the Border in Baja . 🌊🐋
And to celebrate, we have a gift for all of you. Premiering our latest SeaTrees film in partnership with our pals at WILDCOAST: Aloha El Dátil 🌞
This film takes us along a journey through three languages, two cultures, and one incredible group of women who have taken the protection of their homelands - into their own hands.
Join Hawaiian-born Boardriders and ROXY athlete Maluhia Kinimaka as she visits SeaTrees pals and local NGO project partners WILDCOAST - at our new project site in Laguna San Ignacio - way down south in the surf, sun, and sand-blessed region of Baja, Mexico - where she visits the “Mujeres de El Dátil” to learn their story of mangrove restoration at this one of a kind UNESCO World Heritage Site 🌱 - and the world’s last undeveloped California gray whale breeding lagoon.
Let this film inspire you to now become part of the solution by planting and protecting your own mangrove tree in Baja in support of the Mujeres de El Dátil this #internationalwomensday. Help us turn the tide on climate change - one seedling at a time.
