Restore reefs. Empower local communities. Protect island life
By subscribing to plant coral in Fiji, you’re helping to rebuild one of the most vibrant and culturally significant marine ecosystems on Earth. Every month, your donation supports local coral gardeners as they grow and plant heat-resilient corals to restore degraded reefs across the islands.
These reefs are vital - not only for marine biodiversity, but also for the Fijian communities who rely on them for food, livelihoods, and coastal protection.
Each coral you plant helps to:
- Restore reef habitat with thermally tolerant coral fragments grown in rope nurseries
- Restock 9,000 nursery-grown corals and plant 6,000 on the reef to boost biodiversity
- Remove invasive Crown-of-Thorns Starfish (COTS) that prey on coral
- Strengthen reef resilience through ongoing monitoring and 3D reef mapping
- Support community-driven marine protection in traditional tabu (no-take) zones
- Empower local youth and elders through hands-on reef restoration training
