Celebrate Earth Month with SeaTrees
Something HUGE is here. And no it’s not our new gray whale friends we hung out with last week at our project site in Baja…..it’s EARTH MONTH!
April 22, 2022 marks the 52nd Anniversary of Earth Day, and to honor our home planet we’ll be celebrating all month long and reflecting on how far the environmental stewardship movement has come. On the first Earth Day, 20 million Americans took to the streets, protesting environmental injustices and mobilizing a new revolution.
While Earth Day this year might look a little different to some of us, we’re excited to share the many opportunities SeaTrees has put together so you can make a positive impact on the planet and the ocean from home. If you want to make a difference, consider planting a SeaTree for yourself, your friends, and your family this Earth Day!
Sustainable Surf and SeaTrees have partnered with incredible brands and projects aimed at helping the planet in some fun and exciting ways. Last week SeaTrees Co-Founder Michael Stewart and Boardriders athlete Maluhia Kinimaka returned from documenting our newest mangrove restoration project in Baja, California, Mexico. Next up, we want to introduce you to a few of our brand partners that help make a lot of our amazing restoration projects possible, and that have specifically taken steps this Earth Day to encourage others to take action in our efforts to reverse climate change.
Iconic watch brand Nixon will plant a mangrove tree for every item sold from their Sustainable Product collection for the entire month of April. This means 1 product = 1 mangrove tree. The next bit of exciting news is our collaboration with SeaVees! They will support kelp forest regeneration in Palos Verdes, California, through a donation of $5 for every product sold in April.
