New Project Site: Olowalu, Maui
At the heart of this restoration is the HO‘OWAIWAI Watershed Project, led by Regenerative Education Centers (REC). “Ho‘owaiwai” means to enrich or make prosperous in Hawaiian - a fitting name for this effort to revitalize land and community.
Seatrees and REC are working to:
🔹Remove invasive species
🔹Replant with native and voyaging plants
🔹Rebuild soil health and manage erosion
🔹Restore stream flow and create a regenerative farming system
These efforts turn degraded land into a thriving, productive ecosystem that improves both environmental and community well-being.
